The Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI) planned to develop a new family-friendly museum at its headquarters by the sea to re-engage the public with the fascinating and important work of the RNLI. The project planned to move the RNLI’s large historic collection of lifeboats from its present location in Chatham Historic Dockyard to the new museum in Poole.

Cultural Innovations was commissioned by the RNLI to develop the new museum’s storylines and interpretive concept, working closely with the client team to discover the institution’s stories and collections.
