Space Museum (SAASCC)
Kuwait City, Kuwait
The Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre (SAASCC) is a 13 hectare site in the Al-Sha’ab district of Kuwait City currently being developed by the Amiri Diwan. Construction has now started on four world-class museums covering Space, Science, Natural History and Arabic Science, together with a Theatre and Fine Arts Centre. A central shaded “street” will provide a public connection between the four museums.
Cultural Innovations was appointed - initially by DAR SSH International Engineering Consultants and now by Alghanim International - to develop the museum’s content and exhibition design, with the aim of providing an invaluable resource for Kuwaiti schools and colleges, as well as a landmark attraction for families from Kuwait, the Middle East and beyond.
The Space Museum (4,300m²) contains three galleries – Planetary Science, Space Exploration and Space Academy – and also incorporates a 107 seat planetarium telling the story of planet earth, the universe and space exploration, together with an immersive reconstruction of the International Space Station.
