Natural History Museum (SAASCC)
Kuwait City, Kuwait
The Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre (SAASCC) is a 13 hectare site in the Al-Sha’ab district of Kuwait City currently being developed by the Amiri Diwan. Construction has now started on four world-class museums covering Natural History, Science, Space and Arabic Science, together with a Theatre and Fine Arts Centre. A central shaded “street” will provide a public connection between the four museums.
Cultural Innovations was appointed - initially by DAR SSH International Engineering Consultants and now by Alghanim International - to develop the museum’s content and exhibition design with the aim of providing an invaluable resource for Kuwaiti schools and colleges, as well as a landmark attraction for families from Kuwait, the Middle East and beyond.
The Natural History Museum (7,700m²) contains seven galleries – Arabian Landscapes, Brilliant Biodiversity, Ecosystems, Extreme Ecosystems, Our Earth, Our Place in Nature and Prehistoric Life and offers visitors a unique insight into the natural world. It includes a stunning ecosystem experience that allows visitors to explore a living rainforest, mangrove and coral reef.
