We were commissioned by Land Design Studio to manage the research, commissioning, media production and interactive development for two floors of the Urbis development in Manchester. Land’s commission was for Floor 1 - Imagining and part of Floor 3 - Claiming and Sampling. Close collaboration was required with the other designers At Large and Event.

Our role was to programme, commission, co-ordinate and manage the photography, filming, soundtrack and development of exhibits. Multiple suppliers were required to provide material and interpretation linking the experiences of city dwellers around the world. Film production was carried out in six cities; Manchester, Sao Paulo, Tokyo, Singapore, Paris and Los Angeles.

The presentation of this material required development of over twenty different interactives incorporating techniques that ranged from pepper’s ghosts, mechanical interactives presenting graphics to interactive touch sensitive tables and large scale walk-in timelines using the latest sensing equipment.
