The Milan Salone del Mobile Internazionale (Milan Furniture Fair) is considered by many to be the design event of the year. In 2010, the Sony Corporation's designers worked with Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby to create an investigational installation at the Milan Salone. The seed for the exhibition was Sony's new design concept, Monolithic Design. The objects explained and exploited Sony's new innovations in sound technology to transform ordinary materials into sound-emitting objects.

Sony asked Cultural Innovations to undertake the Construction Management of this exciting and groundbreaking installation.

The project was shortlisted for the Design Museum’s 2011 Brit Insurance Design Awards.
