Qatar aims to establish itself as a cultural destination in the Gulf and as part of a drive to develop a lively museum and heritage landscape a new museums association was established in 2005.

Cultural Innovations was engaged to provide creative planning services to this new organisation - the Qatar Museums Authority. We carried out a review of the most significant national collections held in Qatar as well as the facilities accommodating these collections.

The aim of the study was to document the nature, breadth, condition and signi! cance of Qatar’s national collections and determine how they could be used more effectively to raise the country’s global cultural tourism profile.
