Timescale:   2006 - 2011

Cultural Innovations provided all consultancy services, including content development, interpretation and exhibition design, for the development of Massar, a unique children and youth project in Syria. This aimed to use the process of scientific exploration as the vehicle to engage and empower Syrian youth to participate in Syrian life as citizens, increase their capabilities and realise their full potential.

Working with an international multi-disciplinary team, we developed the 13,000 m² Discovery Centre in Damascus, together with outreach services in cultural centres located throughout the regions of Syria.

Due to the size and scale of the project, we appointed three other international exhibition design companies to assist in the delivery of the Massar project, operating under the overall design direction of the Cultural Innovations design team.

Having commenced on site, this project has now been abandoned as the civil war in Syria continues.
